Of the number, 3,483 individuals are currently staying inside 21 evacuation centers.

Meanwhile, 381 persons were served outside evacuation centers.

Most of the affected individuals reside in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Western Visayas, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported that it distributed P99,150 worth of food and non-food items to the municipalities of Basco, Batanes; Alcala, Cagayan; and Cabagan, Isabela.

DSWD Field Office VI also sent P4,784,972 worth of humanitarian assistance to families affected by the southwest moonsoon or “habagat” rains in Hinoba-an, Negros Oriental.

DSWD Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Romel Lopez assured the agency will continue to coordinate with local chief executives of the affected municipalities to ensure they have sufficient relief items to give their constituents.

“DSWD disaster response teams in all affected regions remain on standby to provide technical assistance and augment resources to localities that are experiencing the effects of Typhoon ‘Betty,” Lopez said.

“Rest assured that all member agencies of the Disaster Response Cluster are also coordinating with their regional counterparts to ensure the smooth delivery of assistance,” he added.
