Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla is taking a 10-day wellness leave “due to personal reasons,” the Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Monday, June 26.
“The Department of Justice would like to issue an official statement regarding our Secretary of Justice. Due to personal reasons, the Secretary of Justice will be taking a wellness leave for 10 days, effective immediately,” the statement read.
The DOJ assured the public that it will ensure that the operations of the department will “run smoothly” during its chief’s absence.
“Our officials and employees will continue to work diligently and fulfill their respective responsibilities to ensure that the operations of our department run smoothly during the Secretary’s absence,” the statement further read.
“We kindly ask for your understanding and respect for the Secretary’s privacy during this time. We look forward to the Secretary’s return and his continued service to the DOJ and the Filipino people.” -ag
