An official of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) on Thursday July 13, said they are not seeing the water level of Angat Dam to drop to a critical level of 160 meters.

In the July 13 Laging Handa briefing, MWSS division manager Patrick Dizon said that based on their projection and from the data provided by PAGASA, the lowest possible water level would be around 175 meters to 176 meters.

Dizon said the agency has been working closely with water concessionaires to address the impact of low water supply from the dam due to El Niño, with cross-border sharing of water allowed to provide water to areas with limited supply.

Meanwhile, the MWSS official said long-term projects are underway to decrease the 90% dependency on Angat Dam. -ag
