Bulacan placed under state of calamity

The province of Bulacan has been placed under a state of calamity due to the effects of Super Typhoon “Egay” and the southwest monsoon or “habagat” enhanced by Typhoon “Falcon.”

Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando made the announcement following the special session of the members of the Sangguniang Bayan on Sunday night, July 30.

According to the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) of Bulacan, 16 towns and three cities have been affected by severe flooding brought about by Typhoon “Egay” and “habagat.”

Bulacan PDRRMO also noted there are 191 barangays still submerged in flood.

A total of 4,794 families or 18,392 individuals are currently staying in evacuation centers.
