The net satisfaction rating of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. went up in all areas of the Philippines, except in Mindanao, results from a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey revealed.

Conducted from Dec. 8 to 11, 2023, the SWS survey showed 65% of adult Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of Marcos, while 18% are dissatisfied and another 17% were undecided.

“Compared to September 2023, gross satisfaction with President Marcos stayed at 65%, gross undecided rose from 14%, and gross dissatisfaction fell slightly from 21%,” the survey results stated.

This resulted in the net satisfaction rating of a “good” +47, up by three points from +44 rating he received in September 2023.

Net satisfaction rating is computed by subtracting the percentage of dissatisfied to the satisfied.

Marcos’ net satisfaction rating was highest in Balance Luzon at “very good” +52, followed by Visayas at “very good” +51, Metro Manila at “good” +44, and Mindanao at “good” +38.

SWS said that compared to September last year, net satisfaction with the President rose by 8 points from +36 in Metro Manila, by 4 points from +48 in Balance Luzon, and by 18 points from +33 in the Visayas.

“However, it fell by 12 points from +50 in Mindanao,” the pollster added.

Marcos also got a higher satisfaction rating in rural areas (+56) than in urban areas (+39).

More males are also satisfied with the Chief Executive’s performance at +53 compared to females at +41.

The Fourth Quarter 2023 SWS survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide. It had sampling error margins of ±2.8% for national percentages, and ±5.7% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. – avds
