The Department of Education (DepEd) continues to be the most trusted and top performing government agency in the Philippines, a latest OCTA Research survey said.

According to a Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey conducted from March 11 to 14, the DepEd received the highest satisfaction scores among government institutions with 82% trust and 84% performance.

In terms of trust rating, DepEd was followed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Health (DOH) both at 79%, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) at 73%, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at 71%.

The aforementioned agencies were the same ones to have topped the list according to performance ratings, with DOH (80%), DSWD (77%), CHED (73%), and DPWH (72%) following DepEd.

The TNM survey was conducted among 1,200 respondents aged 18 years and above nationwide. It has a ±3% margin of error and a 95% confidence level.

Meanwhile, DSWD co-spokesperson Assistant Secretary for Disaster Response Management Group Irene Dumlao said the agency’s ratings reflect its commitment to delivering “efficient and compassionate services” to the people.

“This recognition underscores the tireless efforts of the DSWD in fulfilling its mandate to provide social protection and promote the welfare and dignity of the Filipino people, especially the marginalized and vulnerable sectors of society,” Dumlao said.

CHED Chairperson J. Prospero de Vera III, likewise, vowed to continue the improvement of programs and services for higher education institutions in the country as CHED approaches its 30th year.

“Our direction under Bagong Pilipinas has always been to innovate and enhance the quality of our higher education system,” de Vera said.

Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, for his part, thanked the public for trusting the DOH and the health workers as well.

“We are simply following the wise leadership of President Marcos, who has made health a top priority. Our work continues – tunay na sa administrasyong ito, Bawat Buhay Mahalaga!” Herbosa added. – avds
