At least 77% of Filipinos gave their trust to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., while 75% approved his performance ahead of his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, the highest among the top four government officials in the Philippines..

According to the “Boses ng Bayan” survey conducted by RPMD Foundation Inc., the President received the highest trust rating from Balance Luzon at 80.70%, his family’s political stronghold, and the lowest in Mindanao at 70.16%.

In terms of performance, the pollster noted that Marcos “was most favored in the Balance of Luzon with a score of 78.07% and least in the National Capital Region (NCR) at 69.64%”.

Vice President Sara Duterte, on the other hand, got a 76% trust rating and 71% performance score.

The leaders of the 19th Congress, likewise, both enjoyed a high trust and performance rating — with Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero obtaining 68% trust and 65% performance score while House Speaker Martin Romualdez attained 75% trust and 73% performance rating.

RMPD Executive Director, Dr. Paul Martinez highlighted the stability of the Marcos administration, as proven by the continued high trust and performance ratings of the President and Vice President.

According to Martinez, Romualdez’s ratings have also improved and the leadership of Escudero, who replaced former senate president Juan Miguel Zubiri, was well-received by the public.

The nationwide survey was conducted from July 1 to 10, 2024, involving at least 10,000 adult respondents which also represent around 67.75 million registered voters in the country. – iro
