Caloocan, Taguig sting ops net P7.5-M shabu

Police arrested three high-value individuals (HVI) and seized over P7.5 million worth of narcotics in separate operations in the cities of Caloocan and Taguig.

Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-PDEG) Chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said Wednesday a 41-year-old male, whose name was withheld, was arrested in a buy-bust operation at about 2:25 p.m. Tuesday along Rizal Avenue in Caloocan City.

The suspect yielded about 500 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P3.4 million, along with non-drug evidence.

The suspect and the non-drug evidence are now in the custody of the PDEG Special Operations Unit-National Capital Region, while the seized drug evidence will be turned over to the PNP Forensic Group in Camp Crame for laboratory examination.

Meanwhile, Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said suspects, identified as alias Joy, 43, and alias Enrique, 32, were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday at Barangay Rizal in Taguig City.

Seized from the two were shabu worth P4.14 million, buy-bust money, a mobile phone, and a weighing scale.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
