Central Visayas police seized over P63.6 million worth of illegal drugs during a week-long anti-criminality operation, arresting hundreds of suspects and confiscating numerous firearms.

PBGEN. Roy Parena, officer-in-charge of Police Regional Office-7, reported that from Dec. 13 to Dec. 18, authorities recovered 7.9 kg of shabu worth P54.1 million and arrested 104 drug suspects in multiple operations.

On Dec. 16, police confiscated P1.3 million worth of shabu from a high-profile 27-year-old suspect and separately seized P2.5 million worth of shabu from an e-bike driver in San Roque, Talisay City.

The crackdown intensified on Dec. 17, resulting in 11 operations that yielded 612.24 grams of shabu valued at P4.1 million and the arrest of 11 suspects.

The following day, authorities conducted 14 separate operations, confiscating P1.06 million worth of shabu and apprehending 21 drug suspects.

On Dec. 19, police reported 10 more operations, seizing P555,288 worth of shabu and arresting 31 individuals across the region.

The suspects now face drug-related charges in various courts.

Parena credited the success to intensified efforts to combat narcotics, underscoring the region’s commitment to public safety.
