The three-hectare property of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in Quezon City is set to become a strategic transport hub by 2026—rivaling the size of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo “Wick” Veloso announced.

Dubbed as “Project HUB,” the large transport facility will be built on the GSIS property located at the corner of Elliptical Road and Commonwealth Avenue.

According to Veloso, this project is in accordance with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to develop an Intermodal Rail – City Bus Terminal and Depot in Quezon City to improve connectivity and address the worsening traffic situation in Metro Manila.

“Guided by President [Ferdinand R.] Marcos [Jr.’s] directive, we have a unique opportunity to transform the GSIS Quezon City property into a strategic transportation hub that will improve daily commutes, addressing mobility issues with innovative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions,” Veloso said during a quadripartite meeting with officials from the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and the Quezon City government on Dec. 18.

“Collaboration is the foundation for this very important project. Together, we are not just building a transport hub—we are laying the groundwork for progress and [driving] our nation forward,” he added.

By 2027, the hub is expected to enhance access to the neighboring Philcoa Station of the Metro Rail Transit-7 (MRT-7) when it begins operating from the North Triangle Common Station in North Edsa to San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.
