Various parts of the country will experience rains due to the presence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), a northeasterly windflow, and the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Wednesday.

The ITCZ will affect southern Mindanao, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms over Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Cloudy skies and isolated moderate rains are forecast in Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Isabela, and Aurora due to the northeasterly windflow affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon.

Moderate to heavy rains in the abovementioned areas could result in flash floods or landslides, the weather bureau said.

The rest of the country will feel the effect of the easterlies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail across Northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

As of 2:00 a.m., no low pressure area was monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA said.
