At least 18 areas across the country will continue to experience “dangerous” heat index levels this Wednesday—with the National Agromet Station – UPLB in Los Baños, Laguna expected to peak at 50°C, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The heat index in San Ildefonso, Bulacan is also forecast to hit 47°C, the state weather bureau said.

Based on PAGASA’s forecast, heat indices in the following areas may reach 42°C to 44°C:

  • Hacienda Luisita, Tarlac – 44°C
  • Sangley Point, Cavite City, Cavite – 44°C
  • Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas – 44°C
  • ISU Echague, Isabela – 43ºC
  • Baler (Radar), Aurora – 43ºC
  • Catarman, Northern Samar – 43ºC
  • NAIA, Pasay City – 42ºC

The state weather bureau, likewise, warns the public of the effects of prolonged exposure to extreme heat temperature—such as fatigue, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said that the easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
