Police security operations remain in full swing as vacationers start making their way back to Metro Manila after spending the Holy Week break in the provinces.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said over the weekend that inspections will continue as well as the monitoring of police deployments on the ground.

Aberin said increased police presence and assistance desks will remain in places of convergence, while visibility patrols and coordination with terminal authorities and local government units will continue.

“Metro Manila is bracing for a wave of returning travelers… Security operations remain in full swing,” Aberin said, urging the public to remain vigilant and cooperative and to report any suspicious activity to established hotlines and police help desks.

“(The) NCRPO is ready. We will be there in the streets to deliver safety and security services to the people,” the NCRPO chief added.

The NCRPO is composed of the Manila Police District, Quezon City Police District, Northern Police District, Southern Police District and Eastern Police District.

The Philippine National Police earlier placed all police units across the country on heightened alert and deployed over 65,000 policemen to ensure a safe and peaceful observance of Holy Week. (PNA)
