MANILA, June 22 (PNA) — Batangas moved on from its first loss of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup and whipped AMA, 95-76, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Thursday.
Batangas led from the start and never looked back, even stretching its lead to as high as 21, 55-34, in the third quarter.
For Coach Eric Gonzales, the win was a great way to learn from his players’ mistakes during their loss to CEU last week.
“Sabi ko sa kanila, dream ko na makapasok sa quarters. Kaya ang dami pa rin talaga naming kailangang i-correct,” said Gonzales, whose team moved up to second place at 3-1.
Ivan Villanueva tallied 14 markers, while Andre Paras added 10 points and 22 rebounds for AMA, which remained winless after four games.
