Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman announced Thursday that qualified government employees—including regular, casual, and contractual employees, as well as the uniformed personnel—will receive their mid-year bonus starting May 15.

Simula ngayong araw, May 15, ay magsisimula na pong matanggap ng ating mga qualified government workers ang kanilang mid-year bonus,” Pangandaman said in a statement.

According to Budget Circular No. 2017-2, the mid-year bonus is equal to a government worker’s one-month basic pay given to eligible personnel who have worked at least four months from July 1 of the previous year to May 15 of the current year.

Aside from being currently employed in the government, the DBM chief clarified that the employee should have received at least satisfactory performance rating in their most recent rating period or applicable performance appraisal period.

DBM chief urged all government agencies as well as local government units to ensure prompt and timely discharge of bonuses to their employees as the budget was already released last January 2025.

Also, Philippine National Police (PNP) has also released the mid-year bonus to its 230,925 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel—a testament to PNP’s commitment to boost the morale of cops.

PNP Chief PGen. Rommel Francisco highlighted that the bonus is a way of recognition service of all police and uniformed personnel, “Ang mid-year bonus ay pagkilala sa dedikasyon at tapat na paglilingkod ng ating mga pulis at non-uniformed personnel.
