As weather conditions begin to improve, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), in coordination with the Office of Civil Defense in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (OCD-BARMM), conducted a relief operation for families affected by flooding here on Sunday, May 25.

OCD-BARMM Regional Director Joel Mamon, together with two PCSO staff members, distributed “ChariTimba” (charity pail) kits to evacuees housed in one of the seven evacuation centers in this town, among the hardest hit in the province.

According to the PCSO, each pail contained rice, canned goods, instant noodles, and bottled water.

“Over 2,500 pails were delivered to the town via a C-130 aircraft from Villamor Air Base in Pasay City,” Mamon said.

Soldiers and OCD personnel helped transport the goods to the affected communities.

Additional assistance from other agencies is expected in the coming days, Mamon said. (PNA)
