Councilman nabbed for indiscriminate firing on Christmas eve

TAYUG, Pangasinan—A village councilman is now in hot water after he indiscriminately fired his gun at around 10:15 p.m. on Christmas eve in Barangay Trenchera here.

Arrested by elements of the Public Safety Mobile Force Company of the police was Raquily Bado, 49, a businessman. His neighbors reported him shortly after he fired his gun twice less than two hours before Christmas.

Found in his possession was a caliber .45 Armscor pistol, with magazine containing five live bullets.

The suspect, however, was able to present pertinent documents of ownership of the firearm which are now the subject of verification by the Firearms and Explosives Office in Camp Crame.

He was brought to the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital for physical and medical examination and later brought to the Tayug Police Starion for proper disposition.

All the confiscated pieces of evidences will be brought to Crime Laboratory Office in Urdaneta City for ballistic examination. The suspect will also be subjected to paraffin test. (PNA)
