After briefly re-entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday night, July 6, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued an advisory at 11:00 a.m. this Monday, July 7, noting the exit of Severe Tropical Storm “Bising” at 5:00 a.m. as it moved northward at 35 km/h.

Amid enhancing the southwest monsoon (habagat), Bising gradually weakened in intensity as it had maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h, and gustiness of up to 125 km/h.

Bising was located approximately 605 km north of Itbayat, Batanes.

Meanwhile, the state weather bureau has issued a heavy rainfall advisory due to the enhanced southwest monsoon.

It is expected to bring strong winds in the coastal and upland areas in the Ilocos Region and the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, Masbate, and Romblon.

Albeit Bising’s exit, PAGASA raised a gale warning on the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon citing strong winds and high waves.

Very rough seas are expected in the seaboards of Batanes and Ilocos Norte, as well as those of western and northern Babuyan Islands, with 3.0 meter high waves making travel risky for all types of vessels.

Moderate seas are expected over the seaboard of Zambales and remaining coastal areas of Ilocos Region and Babuyan Islands, which may bring 2.5 meter high waves. The seaboards of Bataan and Lubang Islands are expected to have 2.0 meter high waves.
