Majority of Filipinos across socio-economic classes and across the archipelago are aware of the impeachment complaints filed against Vice President Sara Duterte, according to the results of the July 2025 Tugon ng Masa survey conducted by OCTA Research.

This, amid the recent Supreme Court decision that ruled out the legal procedure against the country’s second-highest government official as unconstitutional, citing violations of both the one-year bar on filing multiple complaints against the same impeachable official and her right to due process.

The poll results reflect the strong national attention and public engagement garnered by the controversies surrounding Duterte, with 99% of respondents in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Mindanao showing awareness of this significant legal and political issue.

Moreover, a large majority, or 80% of the survey’s participants believe that the Vice President should face a Senate or impeachment trial to answer the charges and clear her name. Only 14% disagreed, while 7% were undecided.

These findings underscore the public clamor for accountability from government officials, with people in power expected to perform their functions accordingly, to be held liable for their actions and statements, and to honor the country’s judicial system by undergoing due process when they are called out by lawmakers or the masses.

The survey was conducted from July 12 to 17, 2025, with 1,200 male and female respondents aged 18 and above participating in face-to-face interviews.
