After passing through Bicol Region, CALABARZON, and Central Luzon over the weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued an advisory at 11:00 a.m. this Monday, October 20, noting the exit of Tropical Storm “Ramil” (international name: Fengshen) at 8:00 a.m.

Fengshen was last located 440 km west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness up to 105 kph, as it moves northwestward at 25 kph.

The weather system is expected to continue its track before turning west southwestward to southwestward on Tuesday, and may intensify into a severe tropical storm outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

While wind signals have already been lifted, the state weather bureau noted rough seas over the northwestern seaboard of Ilocos Norte and the western seaboard of Pangasinan, with waves up to three meters high.

Moderate seas with up to 2.5 meter-high waves may also be experienced over the seaboards of Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Isabela, and Zambales, as well as the remaining seaboards of Ilocos Norte.
