“Continue to show that the public can trust and rely on their public servants.”
At the awarding ceremony of the 2025 SubayBAYANI Awards in Manila, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. hailed 126 local government units (LGUs) that have been hailed as exemplars, nine top overall performers, and three Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) regional offices (ROs) for their indispensable contributions in the betterment of their respective locales.
Marcos hailed them for bringing public service that strikes a chord with their constituents, evident in proper allocation of funds towards quality infrastructure projects, thus bringing meaningful change in their communities.
The nine top overall performers hailed at the event were Mountain Province; Aklan; Zamboanga Sibugay; Pasig City; Science City of Muñoz; Victorias City; Victoria, Oriental Mindoro; Sumilao, Bukidnon; and Magpet, Cotabato. Meanwhile, the three DILG ROs that bagged awards were in the National Capital Region, Eastern Visayas, and SOCCSKSARGEN.
“Kapag may proseso, may direksyon—at kapag may resulta, may tiwala naman ang taumbayan sa atin. Tandaan natin na ang mamamayang Pilipino ay nagmamasid at may karapatang pumuna, at tayong mga nasa gobyerno ang tagapanday at tagahatid ng tunay at maaasahan na serbisyo.”
The Chief Executive, moreover, cited the recent launch of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Transparency Portal, which he touts as a major leap in the administration’s quest towards better transparency and accountability in government public works.
He likewise expressed optimism that through this digital tool, the public’s trust in government institutions can be restored and strengthened through participative governance.
President Marcos concluded his remarks by reminding LGUs and DILG ROs to uphold the highest standards of excellence in public service and continue to lead their constituents with honor and with dignity. (with report from Clay Pardilla | PTV News)
