“Ang pagkilala pong ito sa mga programa ng PTV ay paalala po sa amin that every time we go on air, we keep in mind that children are watching,” Querrer said.
“At pangangalagaan po namin ang tiwalang binigay ng mga pamilyang Pilipino na ang mga programa pong ito ay child-friendly at child-sensitive.”
AnakTV President, Ms. Elvira Yap Go, underscored the Philippine media’s role in protecting, educating, and empowering every Filipino child by giving them the platform to shine and showcase their talents and potentials as well as by giving them “what they want to hear [and] what they want to see.”
“It’s you, the media, who can make a change. It’s you, mga Makabata Star, mga network, who can make a change,” Ms. Go said in a keynote address.
She also reminded the parents and guardians about their crucial role in monitoring the media
consumption of their kids.
Lighting a lamp, Ms. Go urged everyone to be the light that gives hope, nurtures, educates, and inspires the people around them, most especially the kids—who will be the future leaders and change-makers of the nation.
“The voice of the children need to be heard, and we need to listen to them.”
