Emphasizing the importance of industrial estates in driving regional growth, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the LIMA Tower One, part of the Lipa-Malvar (LIMA) Estate in Batangas on Monday.
The President’s visit to the 1,100-hectare property forms part of the 1st anniversary celebration of Japan’s Energy for a New Era (JERA)-Aboitiz Power Global Technical Center of Excellence (GTCOE).
President Marcos Jr. went on a guided tour of the various facilities inside LIMA Tower One, which supports thousands of jobs and is home to hundreds of companies.
The estate also houses a campus of Batangas State University, which offers 10 engineering undergraduate programs and eight graduate programs, as well as industry micro-credential programs that provide upskilling opportunities for aspiring professionals under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).
Moreover, the President shared notable offerings under the JERA-Aboitiz Power GTCOE, which includes the maintenance basic training program and the advanced global startup training program, which cover power plant operations, maintenance, safety, and emerging energy technologies.
Among the notable achievements in support of the business sector that are shared by President Marcos Jr. are as follows:
- July 2022-May 2026
- Registration of over 700 micro-credential competency programs
- Assessment of nearly five million Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates
- Increase in number of TVET assessors from 13,500 to 16,640
- April 2026
- Enrollment of 3,820 beneficiaries under the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) Program
The Chief Executive concluded his speech by marking this milestone concurrent with the 70th anniversary of the Philippines-Japan diplomatic ties, emphasizing the importance of maintaining camaraderie with like-minded nations in initiatives such as creating more employment opportunities by bringing education and training together under one roof.
