Laborer putting up scaffolding electrocuted in Cavite

DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite — A 37-year-old construction worker was electrocuted on Wednesday afternoon after he accidentally hit a high tension while putting up a scaffold at the third floor of a building in Barangay Victoria Reyes in this city.

The victim was identified as Allan Anolan Ocampo, 42, a resident of Barangay Victoria Reyes.

The victim’s co-worker Aries Sarreal Alegno told police investigators that he saw how Ocampo got entangled with the high tension wire at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday that caused the victim to lose his balance on the platform.

He fell to the lower roof of an adjacent building which is also under construction after which he tumbled further before finally hitting the ground with burns all over his body

His co-workers rushed the victim to the Dasmariñas City Hospital where he eventually died. (Rogelio Limpin/PNA)
