‘Bato’ to lead traditional PNP New Year’s Call

MANILA — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa will lead the traditional New Year’s Call at Camp Crame, Quezon City Monday.

Expected to attend the event are ranking police officials from PNP Command Group, Directorial and Personal Staff, Police Regional Offices, National Support Units and other units.

Dela Rosa and his wife, Nancy, will receive these top officials and their wives.

The New Year’s Call is an age-old tradition in the uniformed services that allows subordinate leaders to manifest courtesy and loyalty to the commander.

It is also an opportune time for the organization to renew its pledge of loyalty to the flag and the duly constituted authorities at the start of each year.

Later in the day, Dela Rosa will be presiding over the first Command Conference for the year with top PNP brass.

The PNP chief is expected to issue his command guidance in line with 2018 operational thrusts on anti-criminality, internal security, and the national anti-drug campaign.

Also in the agenda of the top-level conference is the implementation this year of another package of cash and non-cash benefits for PNP personnel including the legislated salary hike for the police and military. (PNA)
