Duterte trust rating rebounds to ‘excellent’ : SWS

MANILA — A latest survey from the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed President Rodrigo Duterte has regained his “excellent” trust rating.

In its 2017 fourth quarter poll, the SWS found that 83 percent of Filipinos had much trust in the chief executive, only seven percent had little trust, while another 10 percent were undecided.

This leads to a net trust rating of 75 percent, which is classified as “excellent,” which is higher than the previous quarter’s “very high” rating at 60 percent.

The high trust rating was driven by Mindanao at 95 percent, Visayas at 83 percent, Metro Manila at 80 percent and the rest of Luzon at 77 percent.

The president’s trust rating was also excellent in both urban areas and rural areas at 84 percent and 81 percent, respectively.

It was also high in all classes: 87 percent for class E, 82 percent for class D, 87 percent for class ABC.

Duterte’s trust rating was also high among both men and women at 83 percent and 82 percent, respectively.

It was also high among 35-44 years old at 89 percent, 25-34 year olds at 84 percent, 55 year olds and above at 81 percent, 79 percent for 45-54 year olds and 77 percent for 18-24 year olds.

The survey was conducted from Dec. 8-16 last year and was based on 1,200 respondents. (Juzel Danganan/PNA)
