DAVAO CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Davao Region (PDEA 11) received P4-million worth of equipment from the national headquarters to boost its anti-illegal drug operation capability.
Antonio Rivera, Director of PDEA 1I, said the law enforcement agency would further intensify its operations against illegal drugs.
“We thank PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino that we have these equipment as this will boost our operational capabilities,” Rivera said.
“It is initial and there will be more to come especially weapons (long firearms) that will be used during the operation.”
PDEA 11 also received last January 18 in a formal turnover 17 Epson printers, two Yamaha motorcycles, two units of H100 Hyundai van, five body cameras, eight Motorola handheld radios, three unit laptops, 38 Kevlar helmets, one set reloading machine and educational kit.
Rivera said two Hyundai H100 Vans would be deployed to Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte.
Meanwhile, PDEA 11 was cited for having the highest arrest of uniformed personnel in 2017.
“It is regardless whether you are retired or not here in the region. We have the most number of uniformed personnel arrested that included soldier, policemen and anybody in law enforcement unit,” Rivera said.
