TESDA steps up info drive

MANILA — To better inform the public about its programs and activities, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) would use different media platforms to disseminate information to a wider audience.

Chief TESDA specialist Floramel Joy Songsong told the Philippine News Agency on Friday that TESDA was planning to launch a radio program.

“We are currently discussing with a broadcasting firm about a 25-minute weekly program feature,” she said.

The planned 25-minute program would basically tackle technical vocation and would be produced by TESDA.

The agency is also considering having a program via Facebook live streaming, Songsong added.

TESDA Director General Guiling Mamondiong acknowledged the role of media in disseminating information about the various projects of the  government.

“Media is important in relaying significant programs which the public may avail of,” Mamondiong remarked.

Just recently, TESDA signed a memorandum of agreement with the Filipino Mirror Media Group (FMMG). Under the one-year agreement which has started on January 25, TESDA will be provided with a free space in Pilipino Mirror twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
