TD spotted outside PAR; isolated rains over PH Sunday

MANILA — A tropical depression (TD) was spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at about 1,355 kilometers east of Mindanao, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

PAGASA said the TD has a maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (km/hr), and gustiness of 65 km/hr; heading west at 25 km/hr.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon affecting northern Luzon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Cagayan Valley Region and Cordillera Administrative Region, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains over Ilocos Region.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Strong to gale winds will blow over northern Luzon, and its coastal waters will be rough to very rough.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over the rest of Luzon, eastern part of Visayas, and of Mindanao. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with light to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
