Negros power outage set as NGCP replaces rotten poles

DUMAGUETE CITY — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has scheduled a power service interruption on March 4 as it will replace rotten wooden poles along its Amlan-Bindoy transmission line in Negros Oriental.

The power interruption will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this coming Sunday.

Areas to be affected by the power interruption are the towns of Amlan and Pamplona and Tanjay City, according to distribution utility firm NORECO II (Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative).

The Tanjay City Sub-station of NORECO II will be affected as NGCP will de-energize its Amlan-Guihulngan 69 kV transmission line to conduct replacement of rotten wood piles along its Amlan-Bindoy 69 kV transmission line.

Meanwhile, NORECO II announced Tuesday that there would also be a scheduled power service interruption on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. along the Magatas-Sibulan area from the junction of Kabulakan to Edgar Ablir’s residence in that town.

NORECO II will conduct replacement of 12 rotten three-phase primary poles, including right-of-way vegetation clearing. (Mary Judaline Partlow/PNA)
