6 Negosyo Centers to open in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY — A total of six additional Negosyo Centers (NCs) will soon open in six towns in Pangasinan this year to cater to the needs of the micro-small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the respective towns.

The new NCs will be situated in Umingan, Villasis, Anda, Bugallon, Manaoag and Sta. Barbara, in addition to the existing ones located in Alaminos City, Bolinao, Bayambang, San Carlos City, Mangatarem, Dagupan City, Urdaneta City, Mangaldan, Tayug, San Fabian and Rosales.

Provincial Director Peter Mangabat of the DTI-Pangasinan, said the centers will provide an accessible place for the MSMEs to register their businesses, avail of trainings, consultations and even financing.

“That is why our staff there are also well- trained, so that they will be able to deliver what our MSMEs needed,” Mangabat said.

The Shared Service Facility (SSF) Program of DTI continues to provide assistance to micro-small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) related to the booming industries in the province, wherein PHP9.8 million worth of SSF will be given this year to Pangasinan State University (PSU) Sta. Maria (Food Testing Laboratory Facility), Alaminos City (Bamboo Engineering), Dagupan City (freezer for Bangus Processing) and Binmaley (Bangus Processing).

The DTI Pangasinan will also provide trainings to 20 MSMEs through the “Kapatid Mentor Me Program” (KMMP) in April.

KMMP will train the chosen MSMEs on how to start or maintain their business, how to do proper accounting, be knowledgeable on legal matters, proper production, operation, financial aspect and marketing. (Hilda Austria/PNA)
