Bacoor City “Strike A Job Fair” draws over 800 job seekers

BACOOR CITY, Cavite – Some 800 job seekers flocked to this city’s “Strike-A Job Fair” at the SM City Supermart over the weekend, where some 40 Cavite-based companies and industrial park locators offered a thousand of job prospects and employment offers.

The Bacoor City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) hosted the job fair, with its chief officer Victoria Jimenez;, Cavite 2nd Congressional district office of Representative Strike Revilla, through his chief of staff Noly Galvez, and the SM City Supermart management, through mall manager Josephine Arvesu, spearheading the activities.

Revilla said the jobs fair he has sponsored marked its third year,in cooperation with the SM Supermart and the Bacoor City government.

He said he is committed to bringing more jobs to Caviteños, among them the Bacooreños as this city ranks second as Cavite province’s most populous urban center next to Dasmariñas City.

Khei Sanchez, public information officer of Congressman Revilla said fair has drawn some 40 companies and government offices as prospective employers offering local employment opportunities while other job placement firms offer available jobs overseas.

Sanchez said the companies included SM City Supermart, Ace hardware, Alpha mart, Lee pants, Toyota Bacoor, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and various business process outsourcing (BPO) companies, among others.

Scores of applicants were hired on the spot .
A 45 year-old applicant expressed appreciation as to the “no age limit” for the jobs fair, while scores of other applicants described the job and employment event as one that considered more their experience, skills and knowhow. (Rogelio Limpin/PNA)
