Taiwanese university grants scholarships to 3 Negrenses

BACOLOD CITY— Three Negrenses with Agriculture degrees from the Catholic Ming Yuan College in Murcia, Negros Occidental have received scholarships in Masteral degree from the Nanhua University in Taiwan.

The scholars, Marilyn Aldamar from Murcia, Chrecel Mae Lasquite from Cadiz City, and Cheska Aujero from Victorias City, will start their studies for Master in Agricultural Technology for two years and one month, starting this September.

The three Negrenses, who were Pagkaon college scholars under the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program, will be the first Filipino scholars of Nanhua University located in Dalin Township, Chiayi County.

Father Estanislao Su, founder of Catholic Ming Yuan College, said Nanhua University is a state-of-the art university with a strong cultural atmosphere, cultivating innovative, and high-standard education.

Each grantee will receive scholarships worth PHP438,550 per year, with a monthly allowance of PHP18,000 in the first six months.

From the seventh month to the 25th month, they will work in a laboratory while studying and will set up a greenhouse structure for the university. During this period, they will receive a monthly allowance of PHP36,000.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. urged the scholars to come home to Negros Occidental after completing their Master’s degrees.
