NCRPO on alert for transport strike

MANILA — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) remains on alert as it closely monitors the transport strike staged by the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) on Monday.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Oscar Albyalde ordered all district directors of the five police districts to secure their areas.

He also ordered the deployment of security forces to avoid harassments of drivers not joining the protest, NCRPO spokesperson Kimberly Molitas said.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has suspended the number coding scheme in the National Capital Region, except in the Las Piñas, due to the transport strike.

Some schools have also suspended classes following PISTON’s announcement of the transport strike.
