The recent historic campaign of Philippines in the FIBA 3×3 World Cup, U-18 category to be specific, just made this growing urban basketball field to be recognized more, especially for the Filipino college players.
Showcasing millenial discipline and fondness in the game of basketball, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) will present its first sought-after 3×3 basketball tournament in the league.
The said discipline will be included in the sports calendar of the upcoming NCAA Season 93, which is set to open on Saturday, July 8.
Adding another variety of country’s venerated basketball game, NCAA will mark a quantum leap on the development of the game and will display golden array of opportunities for junior college players.
However, the said 3×3 basketball scene, which is expected to start on January or February next year, will only be a ‘special event’ on its pilot year, together with kiddies’ basketball, according to JRU Team Manager and ManComm representative Supan on Monday press briefing.
Moreover, the Championship in 3×3 and kiddies’ basketball will not be included in the General Championship tally at the end of the NCAA Season 93. | via Tretch Melarpes
