MANILA — With the goal of providing a better experience for its clients, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has just partnered with Amadeus Altea Suite, a passenger service system that streamlines air travel processes, such as reservation, flight management, and departure control, among others.
PAL said partnering with this airline IT system would improve the airline’s operational efficiency.
In a statement, PAL said passengers could look forward to faster and simpler check-ins, more personalized customer service, improved/on-time performance, among others.
The flag carrier added it has chosen Amadeus as a technology partner, since PAL targets to get a 5-star rating by 2020.
PAL recently got a 4-star certification from Skytrax, an international air transport rating organization.
Skytrax earlier cited PAL got a 4-star rating based on the carrier’s in-flight and on-ground services.
As PAL received the 4-star rating, its president, Jaime Bautista, said the airline would continue expanding and modernizing its fleet, opening new routes, and improving customer service.
“We need technology that will help us attain our (5-star) ambition,” he remarked in a statement.
Meanwhile, PAL said partnering with Amadeus would also support its goal to join an airline alliance.
“More than two-thirds of Star Alliance airlines, three-quarters of Oneworld airlines and half of Skyteam airlines use Amadeus. As a community platform for airlines, Amadeus enables better integration between partner airlines, with real-time sharing of availability, fares, and customer and booking information to deliver a harmonized customer experience across the alliance,” it said.
