No LRT, PNR ops on Holy Week break

MANILA — The Light Rail Transit (LRT) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR) will suspend their operations during the Holy Week break for maintenance activities.

In an advisory released by the Department of Transportation on Wednesday, LRT Lines 1 and 2 will have no operation from Maundy Thursday (March 29) to Easter Sunday (April 1).

PNR will suspend operations from March 29 to March 30 but will conduct special operations on March 31 with the following routes:

Tutuban-Calamba (Departure time: 6:37 p.m.)

Tutuban-Mamatid (Departure time: 7:07 p.m.)

Tutuban-Alabang (Departure time: 7:37 p.m.)

The management of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) has earlier said that it will suspend its operations from Holy Wednesday (March 28) until Easter Sunday (April 1) for maintenance activities of the rail system.

It aims to increase the number of running trains to 15 once the maintenance works are concluded. (PNA)
