11 passengers hurt, 2 in critical condition, in Cavite road mishap

KAWIT, Cavite – Eleven passengers were hurt, two of them in critical condition, when a minibus they were riding rammed an electricity post on the roadside of the Centennial Road, Barangay Tabon 3 in this town early dawn on Easter Sunday.

Kawit chief of police Chief Inspector Mark Jason Gatdula said Isuzu Mini Bus (TYV 821), driven by Zosimo De Ocampo Fernandez, 45, was traveling from Baclaran to Naic route when it lost control of its wheels along the way heading towards Kawit and plowed into the Meralco concrete post.

The front and side portions of the bus was totally damaged, Gatdula said.

He identified the two seriously injured victims as Michael Villanueva Corpuz, 25 from Naic, who was rushed to Philipine General hospital for immediate operations on his injured legs; and Crisaly Rano Tumbokon, 47 from Gen. Trias , who was brought to the Divine Grace Hospital in General Trias for injuries on her head.

The other hurt passengers were identiifed as Aileen Capili De Asis. 42; Petronila Magulod Ignacio, 44; Ailyn Muceros Cuesta, 29; Romilyn Matan Segara, 40; Roan Kate Segara Gutib, 2; Bernardita Alonzo y Lorenzo, 58 years old, aall residents of Tanza, Cavite; Alnor Limbona Taratingan, 17 and Nasib Minirege Didato, 19, both from Rosario, Cavite; JR Duateo Casipong, 17, from San Jose, Bulacan.

Police were still tracking the whereabouts of the minibus driver who abandoned his damaged bus after the incident.
