Couple found dead in Bataan

ABUCAY, Bataan – A couple were found dead with bullet wound on each head on the roadside in St. Leonora Homes, Barangay Mabatang here on Wednesday morning.

Senior Inspector Jennifer Cruz, Abucay police chief, identified the woman as Rina dela Rosa, 43, of barangay Calaylayan in Abucay, based on the identification card recovered by personnel of Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO).

The male companion was later identified as Domingo Baluyot, 44, also of Calaylayan, former overseas Filipino worker. They were reportedly live-in partners.

SOCO recovered a Norinco caliber .45 pistol, and two magazines inside a shoulder bag and two empty shells near the bodies of the victims whose hands and feet were tied with shoe lace.

Cruz said the victims might have been abducted somewhere.

She said residents nearby did not hear gunshots but heard the barking of dogs at around 1 a.m.

Subdivision caretaker Lolito de Jesus said he was inspecting fruit-bearing mango trees at about 8 a.m. when he saw two persons lying on the pavement. He said he thought the two were just resting because of two bags near them.

“When I approached them, I saw blood. Thus, I asked for help,” de Jesus said.

Cruz said they are still waiting for SOCO to complete the processing of the bodies and the contents of the two bags. Police investigation is still ongoing. (PNA)
