DAGUPAN CITY — The Dagupan City Police Station (DCPS) has laid down security plans, including setting up 11 command posts along the De Venecia Highway here, the venue for the Bangusan Street Party, to ensure safety of over 900,000 crowd expected to attend on April 30.
DCPS chief Police Supt. Jandale Sulit, in an interview Thursday, said the two command centers will be situated at the end to end of the highway, where attendees will undergo security inspection before they could enter the venue.
Sulit said all the command posts will be composed of policemen, quick response team, medical team, and a team from the Bureau of Fire Protection.
“Security plan will be implemented as early as morning of April 30, when the grills and other equipment will already be positioned along the highway,” he said.
Sulit discouraged attendees from bringing backpack in order to avoid rigid inspection.
“We appeal to the people who will attend to bear with the inspection,” he said.
Sulit further said glass bottles, sharp objects and deadly weapons will not be allowed within the venue.
“The tighter security measures are to prevent any untoward incident especially that over 30 entertainment artists will be joining the merriment,” he said.
Prior to the Bangusan Street Party, some 400 security personnel composed of the members of DCPS, force multipliers and augmentation force from the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office will be also deployed during the Festivals of the North on April 27, he said.
