N. Cotabato police nab 139 wanted persons

KIDAPAWAN CITY–Police units in North Cotabato conducted from April 23 to 29 the “Oplan Huli Week 2018” and arrested 139 individuals with various offenses from the province’s 17 local government units.

Senior Supt. Maximo Cawas Layugan, North Cotabato police provincial director, said various police units jointly conducted warrant implementation and operation “Kapkap Bakal,” a police campaign against loose firearms.

Layugan said the law enforcement operations was in compliance with the directive from Police Regional Office (PRO-12).

“Oplan Huli Week aims to arrest all wanted persons in the province,” Layugan said. Of the total number, he said eight were listed as “most wanted persons,” 95 were labeled as “wanted persons”, and 36 others were arrested on the spot for committing a crime or in possession of contraband and illegal items.

Kidapawan City had the most number of arrested persons with 35 individuals, followed by Midsayap and Pigcawayan with 12 each and Kabacan with 11.

The “Oplan Huli Week” is the brainchild of Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, PRO-12 regional director.

Morales lauded the North Cotabato police for having the most number of arrests in a week’s time.
