PNP, other gov’t agencies offer jobs in Laoag

LAOAG CITY—The Philippine National Police (PNP) and other national government agencies joined some 40 companies in a job fair at the Robinsons Mall activity area in San Nicolas town on Tuesday.

Organized by the Provincial Public Employment Service Office, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment, the May 1 job fair offers thousands of jobs for Ilocanos here and abroad.

According to Eman Bayangos of PESO, the Philippine National Police (PNP) participated in the job fair as the Special Action Force is in need of additional 4,000 members nationwide.

Bayangos said interested applicants may just register at the activity area and submit their credentials.

“Aside from the private companies, other national agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry, PhilHealth, Pag-ibig and other international recruitment agencies are also in need of more work force to fill in job vacancies,” said Bayangos.

The Ilocos Norte Youth Development Office also conducted a career guidance counseling for job applicants at the La Tabacalera Ilocano Lifestyle Center beside the Provincial Capitol building.

Job applicants were asked to prepare and print multiple copies of resumes and submit them to more than one company to have a better chance of getting hired. (Leilanie Adriano/PNA)
