Dagupan City to install more traffic lights

DAGUPAN CITY — The city government here is set to add more traffic lights to eliminate gridlocks in the city, especially during rush hours.

Mayor Belen Fernandez said on Friday that the bidding for the additional traffic lights has begun as part of the second phase of installation.

Fernandez said the second phase of the project will cover the intersection of the Dagupan-Binmaley highway, Arco St. and Judge Jose de Venecia Expressway, Perez Blvd. corner Zamora St., Nueva St., and in front of the University of

Pangasinan.
She said the city government funded the first phase of the installation of traffic lights, consisting of 36 sets of traffic signal lanterns and 26 sets of pedestrian lanterns, worth PHP8,594,560.80.

Meanwhile, Fernandez reminded motorists and commuters to follow traffic rules and regulations in the city to avoid penalties. (Ahikam Pasion/PNA)
