DAGUPAN CITY—The Social Security System (SSS) on Friday asked six delinquent employers here and in Calasiao town to show cause why they should not be penalized for violating the Social Security law.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Dooc and other SSS officials posted the “Show Cause Orders” to six delinquent employers located in Perez Blvd., Rizal St., AB Fernandez in Dagupan City and Poblacion, Calasiao in Pangasinan.
The employers who received the directive were the owners of V Medina/Venacios Leather with PHP351,420.70 delinquency; RMR Beauty, Wellness with PHP208, 254.90 delinquency; and Greenmont Systems International with PHP93,781.80.
Meanwhile, Rachel Santos/R&T Gen Mdse, Adriano’s Restaurant with PHP28, 456.80 delinquency and Alberto Galvan Ilumin/HYD Trading with PHP17, 672.03 delinquency have been served with Coverage Letter requiring them to register their business and to report their employees to the SSS.
Hanie Jane O. Dominisac was served a Final Demand Letter requiring her to register with SSS and to pay her delinquency amounting to PHP55,486.53.
Dooc, in an interview with newsmen, said the serving of Show Cause Orders was part of its Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) intensified collection campaign against delinquent employers.
RACE is a campaign designed to instil awareness of employer’s obligation, exact employer compliance and to facilitate apprehension and filling of cases against non-compliant and delinquent employers in violation of the SS Law.
Dooc said that the employers are guilty of non-remittance of SSS contributions of their employees and non-registration for SSS coverage.
“These two are the most common violations of employers under the SS Law. Despite continuous reminder of their responsibilities, there are still employers who wilfully and deliberately evade their obligations under the law,” Dooc said.
“It’s unfortunate that instead of being our partners in providing social security protection, some of these employers end up being our nemesis because they fail to comply with their statutory obligations,” Dooc said.
Dooc emphasized that employers can approach the SSS branch, which has jurisdiction over them for assistance, in case they are having difficulty paying their delinquencies.
Meanwhile, SSS with law enforcement agencies, was also scheduled to implement warrants of arrest against the owners of one printing company in barangay Caranglaan and a cellphone parts store in A.B. Fernandez Avenue here as part of its Oplan Tokhang.
However, the owners were not present in the business location hence the warrants were not served.
“They are declared at large now and the warrants can be served to them anytime as these have no expiration,” said Maureen Inocencio of SSS Media Affairs.
Inocencio advised the two delinquent employers, subject of the warrants of arrest, to coordinate with SSS, especially if they are willing and capable to settle their delinquencies.
“If the amount of their delinquency is big, they could pay it in instalment basis,” Inocencio said. (PNA)
