Possible rainfall on Wednesday: PAGASA

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said there is a high chance of rain to occur in the country on Wednesday due to local thunderstorms.

People across the country, thus, are advised to bring umbrellas in preparation for the rain and heat.

In its 4-p.m. weather bulletin effective for 24 hours, PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to local thunderstorms.

The state-run weather bureau said the high-pressure area (HPA) would affect Luzon and Visayas, while the easterlies would be felt in Mindanao.

The HPA signifies warm weather, while the easterlies are warm winds coming from the Pacific that stir cloud formation.

According to PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas, the HPA and the easterlies will cause humidity, cloudy skies, and local thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening.

Slight to moderate coastal waters are also expected over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas, caused by light to moderate winds.

The Mindanao seaboards, meanwhile, will have slight to moderate coastal waters, pushed by light to moderate winds.

On Tuesday, PAGASA recorded a peak temperature of 34.8°C and a minimum temperature of 25°C.

Until Saturday this week, the weather bureau sees the temperature around the country to range 17-37°C, while Metro Manila will have a temperature range of 25-35°C. (PNA)
