PDEA seizes P6.5-M worth of shabu in Cavite

CAMP GEN. VICENTE LIM, Calamba City – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Calabarzon (PDEA 4A) presented here Tuesday a suspected big-time drug pusher arrested during a drug buy-bust in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Monday.

Mohammad Ontil, 18, who hails from Mindanao, yielded about a kilo of shabu worth about PHP 6.5-million during the operation in Area 1, H-2 village, Datu Ismael suburb in Dasmarinas.

PDEA-4A Regional Director Adrian G. Alvariño presented Ontil to the media at PDEA-4A regional headquarters, Tuesday.

Alvariño said Ontil is a suspected big-time drug pusher in Dasmariñas City, Cavite who hails from Mindanao.

He said PDEA 4A, PDEA-ARMM and Special Enforcement Services jointly conducted arrested the suspect after receiving the buy-bust money in exchange for one black eco-bag containing blue transparent sealed plastic bag containing around one kilo of shabu.

“Our assessment is that the expanse of this suspect and his group is up to Mindanao as most of the drug traffickers there have migrated here in our area in Cavite due to very strict implementation on the anti-illegal drugs in view of the Martial Law imposed in Mindanao,” Alvariño said.

The drug enforcement agency continues its follow-up operations to arrest the other suspects in line with the directive of PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino to apprehend high-value targets and conduct high-impact operations.

Ontil is now under the custody of PDEA-4A headquarters and will be charged for violation of Section 5 on the sale of dangerous drugs in Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (Robert Maico/PNA).
