Gov’t launches ‘Jobs, Jobs, Jobs’ online portal

MANILA — An initial 11,000 employment opportunities in the infrastructure sector will be available not only for Filipinos here but also for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) through another online job portal by the government.

At the launch of the “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs” Portal on Tuesday, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said the job vacancies in the website were sourced from 10 contractors.

The online jobs site aimed at consolidating all employment opportunities from all concessionaires and construction companies involved in the government’s flagship infrastructure program.

With this, Villar is expecting that more jobs numbering to 100,000 would be available as contractors with projects with the DPWH, Department of Transportation (DOTr), and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), are expected to post more vacancies in the website.

“That’s only the initial number of available jobs but eventually there would be over 100,000 covering the whole program. Maybe there would already be an increase in the next month,” Villar said in an interview.

“The “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs” Portal will serve as a job matching platform between potential employers and employees as the government moves to complement its “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure initiatives with more job opportunities for Filipinos,” the DPWH chief added.

Also present during the launch were Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, and BCDA President Vince Dizon.

He added that the government’s online job hunting website would not only cater to those who are based in the country but also to returning OFWs who are looking to be hired here.

“They are looking for engineers. The good thing about this job portal is, it’s accessible via internet, so for those who are looking for job, they can apply online,” Villar added.

Interested applicants may visit the “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs” Portal website at www.build.gov.ph, for the list of jobs being offered in all infrastructure projects including the 75 flagship projects of the government. (PNA)
