TESDA slates free 2-day National Assessment on June 26-27

IMUS CITY, Cavite – Graduates of Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) programs in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces (Calabarzon) should take advantage of the free 2-day National Assessment Day (NAD) at all Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) accredited centers in the region from June 26-27.

In its advisory on Tuesday, TESDA Director General Secretary Guiling A. Mamondiong said that NAD is a government mechanism aimed at improving the delivery of services and expand the placement opportunities of TVET graduates and interested workers in finding jobs.

The program aims to level up TESDA’s Competency Assessment and Certification Program to reach a wider public and boost industry acceptance and appreciation on how the TESDA certification will help improve employability and entrepreneurial possibilities in the workforce.

In support of the Duterte Administration’s “Build, Build, Build” Program, the TESDA program also gives priority to TVET qualifiers in the Construction Sector.

Aside from the TVET graduates, the national assessment program is also offered free and open to all interested and experienced industry workers, career shifters and unemployed adults.

The assessment program also provides opportunity for teachers, trainers who underwent training on Trainer’s Methodology who are interested to become TVET Trainers and TESDA Accredited Assessors.

Interested applicants must register until June 15 for a slot. Application forms may be downloaded while the self-assessment guide (SAG) may be secured through the TESDA website.

Mamondiong said that the two-day nationwide simultaneous conduct of free assessment and certification services are in partnership with companies and industries, local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGAs) and other TVET stakeholders.

Applicants may pre-register until June 15. They are advised to bring and submit the application form, SAGs, 3 passport size pictures (colored, with white background with their name written at the back) and other appropriate documents to any of the accredited assessment centers.

This free assessment and certification service is offered for one time only and re-assessment comes with a fee, as prescribed in TESDA-Board Approved Fees. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
