School opening in C. Luzon generally peaceful

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The opening of classes in Central Luzon went on smoothly on Monday, as police and local authorities took all the necessary measures to provide convenience and safety to students.

Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office-3 director, on Tuesday said due to the tight implementation of “Ligtas Balik -Eskwela 2018,” there was no crime incident reported victimizing students within the region.

Corpus said the zero-crime incident can be attributed to the diligent efforts of the police personnel to ensure the safety and security of the students.

“We have deployed almost 2,000 personnel for the opening of classes and I commend them for their assiduousness in performing their duties, indeed, it paid off with no single incident happened. I would also thank the public for their cooperation and support to us,” he said.

Corpus added their police assistance desks and motorists assistance centers are still in place until June 13 in convergence points, particularly in bus terminals, airport, seaports, and recreational areas, including highways, main thoroughfares and crime-prone areas to ensure maximum police presence. ( Ric Sapnu/PNA)
