ILOILO CITY — President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has encouraged Vista Land, an all-Filipino company, to put up more investments and bring in more quality jobs for Filipinos.

President Duterte inaugurated Vista Mall, the 23rd mall of Vista Land that is located at the 500-hectare Vista Land Community in Oton, Iloilo, Wednsday evening.

“What is really very redeeming is that it is owned by a Filipino,” he said.

Vista Land, chaired by former House speaker and Senator Manuel B. Villar Jr., is one of the country’s integrated developer and homebuilder.

“Malaki ang housing dito. And it’s everywhere in the Philippines, the largest. Finally a Filipino has made it big time,” the President stated.

Duterte said those from “different income segments were able to secure decent homes.”

As he lauded the opening of the mall, he assured that the national government does its best “to create conditions where enterprise can prosper.”

He made also made it known that one of his commitments, even during Presidential debates, is that he does not want corruption.

“There will be no corruption in this government and I’m doing it until today. I am firing people,” he said.

Meantime, Vista Mall hosts a “number of homegrown retail concepts” that could compete with local and international chains, according to its press statement.

Among these are AllHome Iloilo, a one-stop depot for construction and home decoration needs; All Day Supermarket with “paluto” as one of its main features where customers can pick out fresh produce and have it cooked while they shop and Coffee Project, a coffee shop chain known for its extensive food and beverage menu.

It is also set to open four new world-class cinemas, and other retail and dining concepts before the end of this year. (Perla Lena/PNA)
